Senior Technician - Inspection

Job Descriptions

We are seeking an experienced Senior Technician – Inspection Services to carry out inspection, testing, and certification activities for lifting equipment, pressure vessels, and related assets. The role requires strong hands-on technical expertise, compliance with applicable standards, and the ability to work independently while supporting supervisory responsibilities when required.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct inspections, testing, and certification of lifting equipment and accessories in accordance with applicable standards and regulations.

• Perform inspection and assessment of pressure vessels, air receivers, and alumina tankers.

• Carry out breakdown inspections and ensure safe operation of equipment.

• Inspect and assess:

  • Overhead cranes and mobile cranes

  • Forklifts and MEWPs (Mobile Elevating Work Platforms)

  • Loose lifting equipment and accessories

• Perform and interpret NDT activities (PT, MT, VT) as per certification scope.

• Prepare accurate inspection reports, checklists, and certification documents.

• Ensure compliance with Permit-to-Work (PTW) systems and site safety procedures.

• Utilize CMMS systems for inspection records, maintenance coordination, and reporting.

• Support supervisory duties, guide junior technicians, and coordinate site activities when required.

• Liaise with clients, site representatives, and internal teams to ensure timely service delivery.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Structural (Civil) Engineering.

• NDT Level II certification (PT, MT, VT) as per ASNT SNT-TC-1A or equivalent.

Experience & Technical Skills

• Strong hands-on experience with:

  • Lifting equipment and accessories

  • Pressure vessels and air receivers

  • Equipment breakdowns, inspections, and testing

• Proven experience inspecting:

  • Overhead and mobile cranes

  • Forklifts and MEWPs

  • Loose lifting equipment

  • Air receivers and alumina tankers

• Sound knowledge of relevant inspection codes, standards, and safety practices.
